Infographics in the Classroom

Infographics, I think, are great ways to represent information to people. I find that presenting information in this form has a greater impact than a lot of other ways. By showing the information in a more impactful way, students interact and engage with the presented information more, which is why I think infographics should be used in classrooms and schools in general. Students may see one of these visuals and feel inspired to research the subject and, if applicable, start an activist movement within their own school.

Some examples of infographics

As you can see, infographics can really be about anything! They provide information in a way that catches the eye and relays this info quickly and efficiently to the reader. I definitely will be using infographics in my classroom in different ways, for example, to introduce a new unit or idea. Students could also create their own infographics for a project! Infographics can be used for any subject area and can present any kind of information, which would allow students to get creative in the process of making their own. Canva and Piktochart are two different sites (if using graphs/charts Piktochart is more applicable!) you can use to create your own or have students use!

Here is an infographic I made about driving under the influence in Canada using Piktochart.
